Privacy Policy

How we handle information for schools, students, and partners — and the steps we take to help protect it.

Effective March 1, 2026 · Last updated March 1, 2026

Important: InternPick is a technology platform and listing service — similar to how a real-estate marketplace connects buyers and sellers. We facilitate discovery, communication, and paperwork between schools, students, and host employers. We are not a school, employer, placement agency, insurer, broker, or guarantor of any outcome. All parties use the site at their own risk.

1. Overview

InternPick respects the privacy of schools, students, educators, and host organizations. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

InternPick is a technology platform and listing service — similar to how a real-estate marketplace connects buyers and sellers. We facilitate discovery, communication, and paperwork between schools, students, and host employers. We are not a school, employer, placement agency, insurer, broker, or guarantor of any outcome. All parties use the site at their own risk.

While we implement safeguards described below, no system is perfectly secure. Schools remain responsible for their own FERPA programs and lawful bases for sharing student information.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, role, school affiliation, title, phone, and authentication identifiers.
  • School & program data: profiles, internship listings, policies, compliance settings, signatures, and uploaded documents you choose to provide.
  • Usage data: logs, device/browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and diagnostic events needed to operate and secure the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send to support and in-product notices you receive.
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate users and enforce account permissions (including school account ownership).
  • Display listings and school profiles to other users as you configure visibility settings.
  • Support schools in coordinating work-based learning workflows you enable.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
  • Send service-related notices (you may opt out of non-essential marketing where applicable).

4. Schools, students & FERPA

When a school uploads or manages student-related information, the school is responsible for providing appropriate notice and obtaining required consents under FERPA, state student-privacy laws, and district policy.

InternPick processes that information on the school’s direction to provide the Service — similar to a school-selected ed-tech vendor. We do not sell personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect data (see Section 8). Schools should only enter information necessary for their programs and configure access appropriately.

5. When we share information

  • With other users according to your settings and program visibility (e.g., public school profiles, internship listings).
  • With service providers who help us host, store, email, analyze reliability, or secure the Service — under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the platform.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to continued protection consistent with this Policy.
  • We do not sell personal information.

6. Data retention

We retain information while accounts are active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

School account owners may delete their school account in Settings → Profile, which removes associated school data from InternPick as described in-product. Backups may persist for a limited period before deletion.

7. Your choices & rights

  • Access and update account information in Settings.
  • Request deletion of a school account (account owner) or contact us about individual requests.
  • Manage non-essential cookies on our Cookie Management page.
  • Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Contact us to exercise them.

8. Security — our best efforts

We use industry-standard practices appropriate to the nature of the data, which may include encryption in transit, access controls, authenticated access to production systems, and monitoring for abuse.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the Service at your own risk and should maintain strong passwords and limit who has admin access at your school.

9. Children & student accounts

The Service is directed to schools and authorized educators coordinating student programs. Student-facing features, if any, should be deployed under school supervision consistent with applicable law and district policy.

If you believe we collected information from a child without appropriate authorization, contact us at privacy@internpick.com.

10. U.S. operations

InternPick is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from other regions, you understand that information may be processed in the U.S. where laws may differ from your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
